Lyfar N. Psychological features of the experience of personality envy

Object – the experience of personality envy; purpose – to determine the qualitative and substantive characteristics of the experience of personality envy; methods – theoretical, empirical, mathematical and statistical methods of data processing; novelty – for the first time: the types of manifestation of the cognitive, affective and conative components of the experience of envy are determined; a system of cognitive, behavioral, and emotional predictors of the experience of monetary, social, physical, intellectual, and fantasy types of envy is determined; expanded understanding of: psychological patterns of actualization of the experience of envy by determining the relationship between monetary envy and dysfunctional monetary perceptions and attitudes, envy of others' love and loneliness, envy of others' beauty and health and bodily externalization, envy of others' abilities and implicit theories of given intelligence, fantasy envy and reduced psychological well-being; has been further developed: conceptualization of the phenomenon of envy through the analysis of its qualitative and substantive characteristics, modern classifications, determinants of occurrence and stages of its course; characterization of the qualitative properties of the experience of envy through the analysis of its cognitive, affective and conative features of women and men at the stage of youth and maturity; has been improved: means of psychodiagnostics of the content characteristics of the experience of envy through the creation of a methodology for studying the types of personality envy; results – a theoretical analysis of the phenomenon of experiencing envy in psychology is carried out; the qualitative characteristics of the experience of envy are analyzed by studying its structure and types; the cognitive, affective, and conative characteristics of the experience of envy of a person depending on age and gender are investigated; the content characteristics of the experience of envy are determined; psychological predictors of the experience of different types of personality envy have been identified. The results of the dissertation research have been implemented in the educational process of higher education institutions of Ukraine; area – psychology.
