The dissertation is devoted to the substantiation of theoretical, methodological and applied principles of construction and implementation of mechanisms and tools for the economic development of agricultural enterprises producing dairy products. The directions and potential opportunities for increasing the competitiveness of dairy products produced by agricultural enterprises are investigated. Practical recommendations are formed for improving the quality management system for dairy products of agricultural enterprises, taking into account international standards and requirements. Priority areas for intensification of the development of the dairy farming industry are determined based on the introduction of innovative technologies and organizational and economic solutions. The architectonics of the mechanism of economic development of agricultural enterprises specializing in the production of dairy products is substantiated. The conceptual principles of building and implementing the mechanism of economic development of agricultural enterprises producing dairy products are substantiated, which provide for the integration of organizational, technological, production, personnel and commercial instruments of influence on the intensity and essential characteristics of the economic development process with the definition of strategic development priorities depending on the size, scale of production, financial and market capabilities of agricultural enterprises in the industry. The scientific approach to interpreting the category of "economic development" is improved. Such a state is formed in the process of dialectical interaction and instability between its functioning and development and acts as a kind of reaction of the system to the emergence of crisis phenomena and transformations in the socio-economic environment. A methodological approach to assessing the economic efficiency of milk production in agricultural enterprises has been developed and tested, which, unlike existing approaches, involves taking into account savings in feed costs per unit of output, provided that the structure of feed in the animal feeding ration is optimized and rationally balanced. Methodological provisions have been outlined for identifying the level of economic development potential of milk-producing enterprises and its assessment based on the determination of an integral index, which, unlike existing approaches, involves taking into account a set of interrelated economic indicators, in particular the full cost of production, its sales price, the share of "extra" and higher-grade milk in the total sales volume, specific indicators of profit from the production and sale of dairy products, the level of profitability, as well as the degree of specialization of the agricultural enterprise. The regularities of the development of dairy cattle breeding in agricultural enterprises and the functioning of the domestic market for dairy products have been identified, taking into account the trends emerging in the world agri-food market, which necessitate the strengthening of state regulation and the formation of an effective institutional environment. A methodological approach to the formation of an organizational and economic mechanism for managing the sustainable development of dairy cattle breeding in agricultural enterprises has been substantiated, the content of which consists in the synergistic combination and rationalization of marketing, innovation, financial, organizational and economic and managerial components of ensuring the development of the industry. The directions of adaptation of the management mechanisms of agricultural enterprises to world experience and international quality standards are determined. The first section examines and summarizes the theoretical and methodological foundations of economic development and substantiates the methodological principles of assessing the efficiency and competitiveness of dairy cattle breeding in agricultural enterprises. The second section provides an assessment of the state and identifies the main trends and prospects for the development of dairy cattle breeding in agricultural enterprises, and also identifies opportunities for increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of dairy products and economic growth of agricultural enterprises producing dairy cattle breeding products. The third section substantiates the organizational and methodological principles of the economic development of milk producing enterprises, identifies opportunities for increasing the efficiency of production and competitiveness of dairy products, justifies measures for managing the quality of dairy cattle breeding products in accordance with global requirements, identifies directions for intensification of the dairy cattle breeding industry based on innovative development, and also develops a mechanism for the development of dairy cattle breeding in agricultural enterprises.
