Khaziyev Arseniy. Developing leadership qualities in future psychologists in higher education institutions. – Qualification for scientific work on the rights of the manuscript. Thesis for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the field of 011 «Educational and Pedagogical Sciences» – National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute», Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Kharkiv, 2025. The dissertation provides a theoretical analysis of the problem and proposes a new solution to the scientific task, which consists of identifying and theoretically substantiating pedagogical conditions and experimentally testing their impact on the formation of leadership qualities in future psychologists in higher education institutions. Subject of research – Process of professional training of future psychologists in higher education institutions. Subject of research – Pedagogical conditions for developing leadership qualities in future psychologists at institutions of higher education. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of scientifically grounded and experimentally verified pedagogical conditions on the formation of leadership qualities in future psychologists in higher education institutions, specifically on the level of development of the specified quality. The introduction substantiates the relevance and expediency of scientific study of the problem of leadership qualities formation in future psychologists in higher education institutions, which is reinforced by the need to eliminate the identified contradictions that objectively exist in the pedagogical theory and practice of modern higher education institutions, in particular: - between the social need for specialist leaders capable of managing change, professional reflection, and social responsibility, and the insufficient level of leadership qualities in graduates of higher education institutions; - between the need to develop innovative pedagogical technologies for the formation of leadership qualities in future psychologists and the lack of scientifically based models and methodologies that would ensure the effective integration of these technologies into the educational process; - between the need to prepare psychology students for leadership activities in the context of modern challenges and the insufficient psychological and pedagogical support for the process of developing leadership potential in higher education institutions. In the first part, based on the clarification of the essence of key research concepts (“leadership potential,” “leadership potential of psychology students,” “competence-based approach,” “competence-based approach to the formation of leadership qualities in future psychologists,” “formation of leadership qualities in professional training”), the leadership qualities of future psychologists are defined as an integrated set of personal and professional characteristics (value-motivational, cognitive, communicative, emotional-volitional, reflective) that ensure the ability to effectively organize joint activities, guide the development of others, make informed decisions in conditions of professional responsibility, and promote the harmonization of interpersonal relationships in various social contexts. The specifics of psychological leadership have been identified, comprising a unique combination of classic leadership qualities with the professional competencies, values, and ethics of the psychology profession. An analysis of the current state of training future psychologists in higher education institutions has been conducted. In the second part, the structure of developing leadership qualities in future psychologists is presented as a set of interconnected components: cognitive (knowledge of leadership theory, psychodiagnostics, counseling, as well as skills in analyzing behavior and managing interpersonal interactions); motivational and value-based (personal interest in professional activity and a formed system of values that guides the behavior of the future psychologist-leader); emotional-volitional (emotional stability, emotional flexibility, empathy, tolerance, self-regulation, purposefulness, stress resistance, and initiative); communicative (interpersonal communication skills, constructive interaction, intuition in communication, social intelligence); leadership (organizational skills, decision-making ability, psychological persuasiveness, authority, flexibility of leadership style). The third section examines the changes in leadership qualities that future psychologists will develop.The effectiveness of the developed pedagogical conditions is evidenced by the data of the control stage of the experimental work. The study experimentally proved the effectiveness of pedagogical support for the specified conditions. Quantitative, qualitative, and statistical analyses showed positive dynamics in the level of leadership qualities of students in the experimental group.
