Essay

The object of research is e-learning in China. The subject of the study is the sociocultural dimension of e-learning in China. The purpose of the dissertation is to philosophically comprehend the socio￾cultural dimension of e-learning in China in the context of the formation of a new digital culture. The following tasks have been set to achieve this goal: ‒ to identify the main stages and characteristics of the development of e-education in China, to summarize the practical and theoretical experience of analyzing its socio￾cultural dimension; ‒ to substantiate the theoretical foundations and approaches to the subject of research in order to choose the methodological discourse of e-education in China ‒ to propose a research position in order to substantiate the specifics of the interaction between e-education and digital culture as interdependent factors in the formation of the educational and socio-cultural space of China and to describe the consequences of their interaction, which have an echo in the formation of new cultural techniques; ‒ to describe the representations of new cultural techniques; ‒ to find out the specific features of the interaction between media and information flows, e-education and digital culture in the formation of such forms of socialization as Internet socialization, media socialization and virtual socialization and to determine their characteristics; The main scientific achievements of the applicant are as follows: For the first time: ‒ the basic principles of the methodology in the study of the socio-cultural dimension of e-education in China are revealed, the stages of its formation, the main structural and functional features of their manifestations are analyzed; ‒ the expediency of an interdisciplinary methodology based on a combination of traditional philosophical and cultural, socio-philosophical approaches and applied discourses in the formats of media culture and media anthropology, philosophy of education and educational anthropology is proved, which made it possible to develop a single logical line for philosophical reflection on the representation of the socio-cultural dimension of e-education in China, ‒ the substantive aspects of the socio-cultural dimension of e-education in China as a component of digital culture and a factor of influence on the latter in the context of the close intertwining of education and digital culture are revealed; ‒ the characteristics of Internet socialization, media socialization, and virtual socialization are identified and described; ‒ the emergence of new cultural techniques that are the result of the implementation of e-education in practice, and in most cases, transformed types of traditional cultural techniques in the context of digital culture, is recorded and described; Improved / clarified: ‒ the statement that e-education as part of digital culture creates conditions for the socialization of the individual in the new conditions, and information and communication technologies themselves have not only technical features of development, but also cultural and social value ones; ‒ understanding of media socialization (virtual socialization, Internet socialization) as a mechanism for acquiring new cultural techniques through the assimilation of media culture components and as an active development of the electronic educational space, which as a result is a philosophical representation of the socio-cultural dimension of distance education; Were further developed: ‒ understanding of e-education as a learning behavior that is formed through cultural techniques and social skills, where old cultural techniques are weakened or even disappear due to transformation; ‒ philosophical representation of Internet socialization, media socialization, virtual socialization represented by such components as the Internet subject, individualization, resentment, “clip art”, etc; Keywords: Electronic Education, E-learning in China, Chinese philosophy, philosophy of education, Chinese studies, Confucianism, digital culture, cultural techniques, Internet socialization, media socialization, virtual socialization.
