Trotsenko A. The Scale of Personal Dynamics: Development and Verification for Different Age Groups

The scientific study presents the results of developing a Ukrainian questionnaire, the Scale of Personal Dynamics (SPD), which is based on O. Mazyar’s theoretical concept of personality typology and dynamics. The author distinguishes four main personality types: congruent, conformal, isolated, and psychotic. By achieving a certain level of neuroticism, an individual may undergo a typological inversion/ In accordance with O. Mazyar's conceptual provisions, we developed the Ukrainian multidimensional personality questionnaire, featuring a six-factor structure and a model for predicting the conditional probabilities of personality types based on ordinal regression using the Cumulative Link Model method. Thus, the diagnostic tool shows both the actual and probable personality type. The sample consisted of 551 individuals aged 14 to 75. The respondents included 397 women (72%) and 154 men (28%). Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was performed, which confirmed the compliance of the empirical data with the theoretical model. Discriminant validity was confirmed by the HTMT criterion. Full measurement invariance was confirmed across age, gender, and time points with a 6-month interval. The questionnaire measures personality types equivalently among young and mature individuals of different genders. The reliability of the SPD constructs was analyzed for internal consistency. The obtained values range from acceptable to excellent. Convergent validity was checked. The obtained correlations showed moderate to strong values with the constructs of the reference questionnaires. Divergent and criterion validity also was confirmed. To study the influence of the «neurotic» construct on the remaining basic variables, regression and mediation analysis were performed. Linear regression showed significant β coefficients with varying effect sizes depending on the construct. Mediator properties of the «neurotic» scale were also found in 10 out of 16 influences. Ordinal regression was performed, and a forecasting model was built. It determines the probability of belonging to a certain personality type depending on the level of neuroticism. A separate prediction matrix was formed for each scale. To check the quality of the model, Monte-Carlo simulation samples were constructed. 1,000 simulations were performed for 6 sets of samples of various sizes from 50 to 5,000 individuals. The obtained results confirmed the accuracy of the model. Standardization was performed based on rank-inverse normalization using the Rankit method. As a result of the transformation, the asymmetries in the «congruent» and «psychotic» scales decreased, and the distribution approximated the normal one. A table for converting raw scores into stene scores was formed. Thus, a sufficient number of psychometric parameters have been investigated, which prove the validity and reliability of the developed SPD questionnaire. The obtained results confirmed the theoretical model. The diagnostic tool is created for free use in scientific and practical purposes.
