The dissertation is aimed at studying the theoretical foundations of the formation of value orientations of students, empirical analysis of their psychological characteristics in different groups (psychologists, technical and socio-economic specialties), as well as at developing and testing a training program to strengthen the strengths of the profile, reduce variability and correct weaker indicators.
The object of the study is the process of formation and transformation of value orientations of students in the context of social, psychological, cultural and educational factors, as well as their impact on motivation, self-actualization and emotional state.
The subject of the study is the psychological features of the formation of value orientations of psychology students in comparison with other groups, diagnostic methods (Schwarz, Mehrabian, Shostrom, Rabinovich questionnaires, etc.).
The purpose of the dissertation is to theoretically substantiate the factors of the formation of value orientations of students, empirically study their profiles in different groups, as well as develop and scientifically confirm a training program to increase psychological stability, motivation and emotional balance in order to prepare for professional activity.
The introduction substantiates the relevance of the problem of the formation of value orientations in student age, shows the connection of the work with modern psychological theories (Maslow, Frankl, Rokych, Schwartz, Bech, Maksymenko, etc.), formulates the goal and objectives, presents the scientific novelty, practical significance of the results, determines the personal contribution of the applicant and the approbation of the work.
The first section provides a theoretical and methodological analysis of the problem of students' value orientations, considers the approaches of humanistic (Maslow, Frankl, Allport, Rokich, Schwartz) and psychoanalytic psychology (Adler, Freud, Fromm), domestic concepts (Beh, Maksymenko), as well as forming factors (social, psychological, cultural, educational, individual). Features for psychology students are highlighted, such as humanistic values (respect, tolerance, self-development) and their interaction with external factors. The second section describes the psychological tools of the study: theoretical foundations of the choice of methods (structural, dynamic, axiological approaches), characteristics of the methods (Schwartz Questionnaire, Motivation for Success and Fear of Failure, Kruglov Methodology, Existence Scale, Self-Actualization Test, Four-Modal Emotional Questionnaire, Cattell's 16-Factor Questionnaire). The organization of the empirical study is presented: sample (245 students, stratified selection by age 18–23 years, gender, specialties), pilot study (50 people), main stage (2023–2025), analysis methods (descriptive statistics, correlation, factor, t-test, ANOVA, SPSS).
In the third section, the psychological features of the formation of value orientations are stated: analysis of results by methods (mean values, median, mode, SD, variance for groups - psychologists (Group 1), technical (Group 3), socio-economic (Group 2)), comparison of profiles (high indicators of friendliness, security, independence in Group 1), development and testing of a 10-day training program (70 hours, integrative approach: art therapy, role-playing games, awareness, etc.). Pre- and post-testing changes were assessed (increase in positive indicators by 6–11%, reduction in negative indicators by 10%, decrease in SD by 9–10%).
The conclusions present the main results of scientific work on solving the research tasks.
