Isaiev A. Mechanism for the integration of NATO financial instruments into the system of economic provision of Ukraine’s defence needs

The dissertation is devoted to solving a relevant scientific problem that consists in substantiating theoretical and methodological provisions and developing scientific and practical recommendations for the formation and functioning of a mechanism for integrating NATO financial instruments into the system of economic provision of Ukraine’s defence needs under conditions of full-scale war and structural transformation of the national economy. The relevance of the study is determined by the growing role of international economic support in ensuring Ukraine’s defence capability, the increasing complexity of the architecture of defence financing, the multi-channel nature of external assistance, and the need for its systemic alignment with national mechanisms of defence planning, budgeting, procurement, and resource management in accordance with NATO standards. Under wartime conditions, the integration of the Alliance’s financial instruments ceases to be an auxiliary element and acquires system-forming significance for the state’s military-economic resilience, which actualizes the need to develop a holistic economic and institutional model of this process. In the theoretical section of the dissertation, a bibliometric and scientometric analysis of contemporary international academic discourse on defence financing, the economics of collective security, and the integration of NATO financial instruments is conducted. An increase in scientific interest in this research area after 2014 and its sharp intensification after 2022 is identified, reflecting the transformation of the European security system and the growing role of Ukraine in the global security environment. Based on the analysis of terminological clusters, the necessity of systematizing the conceptual and categorical framework and deepening the economic and institutional interpretation of the integration of NATO financial instruments is substantiated.
