The dissertation provides a theoretical generalization and offers a solution to the scientific problem of training future teachers to develop communicative competence in primary school pupils within the multicultural environment of Transcarpathia. Based on the analysis and synthesis of scholarly research, the state of investigation of the problem addressed in academic discourse has been examined; the essence and content of the study's conceptual and categorical framework have been revealed; and Transcarpathia has been characterized as a multicultural environment from historical and pedagogical perspectives. Particular attention is paid to fundamental scholarly works that are constructive in relation to the stated problem, addressing issues such as the professional training of primary school teachers; the formation of communicative competence in future primary school teachers during professional training; the development of communicative-strategic competence in future primary school teachers; and their preparation for fostering pupils’ communicative competence through children’s periodicals and for working with students in the intercultural space of Transcarpathia. The concept of “future teachers training for the development of communicative competence in primary school pupils” is characterized. Emphasis is placed on the humanitarian aspect of training specialists in primary education. The positions of scholars regarding the essence and content of communicative competence in both domestic and international academic discourse are presented. The necessity of studying the specific features of Transcarpathia as a multicultural environment from a historical and pedagogical perspective is substantiated. The key characteristics of Transcarpathia as a multicultural environment are identified. The preparedness of teachers to develop communicative competence in primary school pupils through the teaching of reading and writing in Transcarpathian educational institutions with Hungarian as the language of instruction is analyzed. The components, criteria, and levels of readiness of future teachers for developing communicative competence in primary school pupils within the multicultural environment of Transcarpathia are determined. The pedagogical conditions for such training are theoretically substantiated, and their effectiveness is experimentally verified. The scientific novelty of the results lies in the fact that, for the first time, the pedagogical conditions for training future teachers to develop communicative competence in primary school pupils within the multicultural environment of Transcarpathia have been substantiated and defined. These include: the actualization and stimulation of future teachers’ motivation to develop pupils’ communicative competence in a multicultural environment; the intensification of the educational process of teacher training through interdisciplinary integration; and the activation of future teachers’ individual reflective experience through the use of innovative educational technologies and educational-practical activities. Their effectiveness has been experimentally confirmed. Furthermore, the components (needs-motivational, cognitive, activity-operational), criteria (motivational-value, content-knowledge, behavioral-reflective), and levels of readiness (low – reproductive; sufficient – variative-constructive; high – creative) have been specified. The essence of key concepts (“training,” “readiness,” “communicative competence,” “multicultural environment”) has been clarified. The organizational and methodological support for training future teachers has been improved. Theoretical, methodological, and technological aspects of preparing future teachers for developing communicative competence in primary school pupils within the multicultural environment of Transcarpathia have been further developed. The practical significance of the research results lies in the development of methodological materials for students’ independent (individual) work, as well as informational resources that contribute to the formation of future teachers' readiness to develop communicative competence in primary school pupils within the multicultural environment of Transcarpathia. The research findings may be used in the design and improvement of educational and professional programs for first- and second-cycle (bachelor’s and master’s) higher education students in specialty 013 (A3) Primary Education within the field of knowledge 01 Education/Pedagogy, as well as for third-cycle (doctoral) programs in specialty 011 Educational and Pedagogical Sciences. They may also be applied to determine individual trajectories of personal and professional development and to implement effective approaches to ensuring the readiness of future teachers to develop communicative competence among primary school pupils within the multicultural environment of Transcarpathia.
