Osinnii I. Preparing Future Physicians for Health Education Activities through Interdisciplinary Integration.

The dissertation presents a theoretical generalization and offers a novel solution to the relevant scientific and pedagogical problem of preparing future physicians for health education activities through interdisciplinary integration. The proposed solution consists in the theoretical substantiation, development, and experimental validation of an educational technology aimed at fostering future physicians’ readiness for health education activities in the context of public health development, the digital transformation of the healthcare system, and the growing importance of health literacy among the population. The introduction substantiates the relevance of the research, which is determined by current trends in public health development, the digital transformation of the healthcare system, the spread of medical misinformation, and the increasing role of physicians’ health education activities in promoting health literacy among the population. The object, subject, purpose, objectives, and methodological foundations of the study are defined. The scientific novelty and practical significance of the research are highlighted, and information on the approbation and implementation of the research findings is provided. The organizational and preparatory stage is aimed at establishing the organizational and methodological prerequisites for implementing the proposed educational technology. At this stage, academic staff were prepared for the implementation of the technology, interdisciplinary collaboration among instructors was coordinated, the content of educational components was reviewed to integrate the health education dimension, and the initial level of future physicians’ readiness for health education activities was assessed. The findings of the pilot study revealed an insufficient level of instructors’ readiness to implement interdisciplinary integration and organize students’ preparation for health education activities. This necessitated the development of the methodological training workshop “Preparing Future Physicians for Health Education Activities through Interdisciplinary Integration”. The implementation of this stage ensured effective coordination among instructors, alignment of the professional preparation content, and the establishment of the organizational and methodological conditions required for implementing the proposed educational technology. The implementation of the proposed educational technology ensures the development of future physicians’ readiness for health education activities, as evidenced by sustained professional motivation, the acquisition of integrated knowledge in health education, well-developed health education communication and organizational skills, digital health education literacy, and the ability to independently design, implement, and evaluate health education activities. It also enables future physicians to create scientifically grounded health education content and effectively apply contemporary digital technologies in professional interaction with diverse population groups. The conducted research does not exhaust all aspects of the problem under investigation. Promising directions for further research include the development and implementation of digital technologies for health education, further improvement of the content and methodology of preparing future physicians for health education activities in the context of the digital transformation of healthcare, investigation of the effectiveness of medical-psychological and preventive health education programmes for diverse population groups, and the development of physicians’ health education competence within postgraduate medical education and continuing professional development.
