Essay

The Ph.D thesis is dedicated to the questions of en-hancing stand productivity and stability, as well as to the enrichment of dendroflora of forest-steppe and steppe regions of North-eastern Ukraine by means of introduc-tion of new forest tree species. The growth, state and productivity of all introduced tree species have been studied for the first time in the region. The most perspec-tive provenances and species were determined for the region in artificial stands and provenance tests. The best varieties were selected and recommended to the state plant varieties testing, one of them (Pinus pallasiana Lamb.) already have been tested since 1996. The assort-ment of introduced tree forest species was suggested for special yield purposes taking into account site conditions.
