64 patients with displastic scoliosis grade IV. Aim of investigation: to work out the method of operative management of complicated forms of scoliotic deformities, which allows maximum intra-operative correction of the deformity and reduce the extent of it's residue in the post-operative period. Methods of investigation: clinical, radiological, statistical. It's been proved and established that use of an-terior mobilization of spine allows to increase the intra-operative correction of spinal deformity and formation of anteroposterior spondilodesis, decreases the loss of operative correction of the deformity and prevents the development of "Crankshaft" phenomenon in patients who have not attained the full growth. For the first time it's been worked out the methods for anterior mobilization of spine and use of frame construction. Operative instruments are improved. This method is clinically practiced in KhSRIOT named after M.I.Sytenko. Traumatology and Orthopaedics.
