Ferroelectric liquid crystal. The aim of study is to determine features of a resonant electroclinic effect. Methods and equipment are electrooptical, electromechanical and optomechanical taking into account resonant feature of a planar cell with the moving high border. A low frequency resonant mode that manifests itself as free damping collective director oscillations after the electric field reversal is revealed and investigated near the second order SmA - SmC* phase transition on FLC. These director oscillations result in oscillations of the birefringence, induced polarization current and mechanical vibrations of the sample cell plates which are free to move. The results are used in Institute for Single Crystals, NASU, Kharkiv. The sphere of application is resonators, electromechanical converters and detectors.
