Essay

In the present thesis the place and role of Ukrainian folklore in national self-expression of the philosopher become clear by means of detachment of mythological and folklore parts in G. Skovoroda's works. For that an analysis of G. Skovoroda's works was conducted both on ideological and formal levels From the point of form fabulous motives and plots are searched as a least studied genre in the writer's works. The fundamental analysis of symbolism proves its mythological and folklore origin. For the first time reconstruction and research of Skovoroda's mental model of the world are realized in the light of national Ukrainian ideology. There were analyzed the main categories of the model - space (time, space, colour, number, destiny) and social ones (individual, sociality, family, labour, learning). In the thesis it was considered a demonstration of main strains of Ukrainian mentality in Skovoroda's works and mentality. This research is a proof of deep Ukrainian nature of G. Skovoroda's creative work an d the artist's integration with Ukrainian cultural traditions.
