Sharlaj Y. Magnetic susceptibility of crystals with degeneracy electron energy bands

Objects: Magnetic susceptibility of crystals with degeneracy electron energy bands. Goals: to investigate an influence of band degeneracy on magnetic susceptibility. Method: determination of exact electron energy spectrum in magnetic field. New results: It is shown the way of detecting Berry's phase in the physics of metals. It is proposed the method for determination of band-contact lines with the help of investigation of the oscillation component of the magnetic susceptibility. The exact expressions for the magnetic susceptibility at an arbitrary magnetic field are found for different cases of electron energy band degeneracy. It is given the full theoretical description of magnetic susceptibility of Bi-Sb alloys.
