Essay

The research results of demutation processes in the Chornobyl Zone have been summarised in the dissertation. The main goal of the work is to elaborate recommendations on forestry rehabilitation of radioacktive contaminated lands on the base of investigations of changes which occurred with vegetation cover over after the accident period. Using common methods the author has done natural observations and processing of distant materials with using modern computer technique. For the first time the demutation processes on different land categories have been characterized; the emploiment efficiency for the field and distant observation methods has been analyzed; recommendations on correction of the natural forest recovery have been elaborated. The recearch results in view of "Temporary recommendations on performance of the ecological-forestry measurements in the Exclusion zone forests" (which were agreed with State Forestry Department and approved by the Ministry of Ukraine of emergencies) have been passed to State Enterprises "Chornobyl'lis" to use.
