. Object of researches is the vegetation of Lower Dnieper arenas. Purpose is to determine the modern condition of the vegetation, tendency of it anthropogenous transformation, to propose the measures of it safety. There was used the geobotanical research methods, claster analysis, floristic analysis. Principles of an ecology - cenotic classification of psammophyte vegetation have been worked up and its prodromus has been composed. It was determined that a flooding, plough up, grazing, cutting down of groves, and man-made afforestation had a significant impact on the vegetation forming. It was elucidated that an afforestation is a determining factor which has a nefative effect on the sandy steppe coenogenesis. A removal of biotic and abiotic deflation factors, the necessary condition for an original vegetation restoration, causes to its desertification. It is proposed to expand a network of the Lower Dnieper nature-protected arenas. Data of researches are new for phytocenology and can be used for manage ment of sandy ecosystems.
