In dissertation the role and significance of the national factor in the social-political development of the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1989 - middle 1990-s are investigated. The author analysed the process of creation and development of Czech and Slovak national movements, the activity presented. The main tendencies of the Czecho-Slovakia development during that period, the origins of the independent Czech Republic and Slovakiand the position of the national minorities in those states have been highlighted in dissertation.
