The dissertation is devoted to the research of change of phase influence in Ni-NiO-gas phase system on the structure of a catalyst active center and catalytic activity. The catalytic action of Ni-NiO system in various conditions and the basic characteristics of active centers are determined. It is established that a nickel catalyst in CO oxidation can be in two stationary states. At Т>633К the stationary state of the catalyst correspond to heterogeneous system Ni-NiО. At Т<633К the stationary state of the catalyst correspond to one-phase system
