Essay

Object of investigation is Maastrichtian and danian calcareous nannoplankton. Target is clarification of systematic contains of calcareous nannoplankton. Electron microscopic methods was used. Sections of five regions of Eastern Peritethys: eastern-northern Africa, Crimea, northern outskirts of Donetsk Basin, Caucasus and Eastern Caspian region are studied. For some regions calcareous nannoplankton zonation is carried out for the first time. From these studies, we can draw the conclusion that a latitude biozonation for the Maastrichtian is possible. Sharp change of nannoplankton association on the Cretaceous - Paleogene boundary is confirmed and possible causes of this event are brought. 51 species of Maastrichtian and Palaeocene nannoplankton are monographic described.
