Essay

Object of research are the socio-political ideas of Ukrainian outstanding historian and philosopher, founder of statehood ("derzhavnytska") historical school and political conservative doctrine - V.Lypynsky (1882-1931). On the basis of the analysis of the sources the author completely illuminates political activity of V.Lypynsky during the period of political emigration (1919-1931) and the place of philosophy of the Ukrainian conservatism in a spectrum of the right ideological directions of 1920s years. The relevant problem in interpretation of socio-political ideas of the Ukrainian scientist is the role of western ideological influencing. The author has demonstrated that in a spectrum of the right political doctrines of the 1920s years the Ukrainian conservatism of V.Lypynsky ranks between moderate religious conservatism and radical monarchism. Its ideological and axiological basis is close to political culture of Catholic countries of Europe, and the social orientation is generic in agrarian East of the continent.
