The work assumes solving the following practical problems: development of a theoretical model for heat and stressed states of the cutting tool with the applied coating and strengthened layer; designing the experimental equipment and experimental testing the program іs possibility of a combined technology realization, and experimental studying the tool wear resistance; development of a technique for forecasting the cutting tool quality characteristics (microhardness, roughness, wear resistance, and adhesion) as a function of the equipment parameters; creation of an engineering technique for the technological process produc-tivity calculation during the coatings application, as well as in the light-beam and combined treatment; development and introduction into production the technological process of combined laser-plasma-ion technology of the cutting tool treatment.
