Essay

The dissertation is devoted to studying the lymphocytic structure and function in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. The changes were traced in the structure of lymphocytic nuclei in patients with lupus, which indicated the heterochromatin decondensation upon both the pathological process activity and the treatment efficacy. A method was developed for the separate morphological studying of T- and B-lymphocytes, which allowed a confirmation to be obtained for activation of the B-population cells in patients with lupus. Another method was developed for studying sensitivity of proliferating lymphocytes to the normal regulatory factors. The response of proliferating B-lymphocytes to the normal suppressor effect was proved to be either reduced or inverse in patients with SLE.
