Approximation of some classes of differentiable functions by algebraic polynomials in the space of integrable functions. Various methods and techniques of the theory of approximation are used. Best approximation of the classes of functions with bounds on modulus of continuity of the r-th derivative and of the K.I. Babenko classes is found. Some other problems which concern these problems, are considered.
