Dissertation contains the research of the essence of privatization, specification of the main terms and categories used in the analysis of the process of privatization. The functions and goals of privatization are defined, the mechanism of its fulfillment in the exact conditions is enlighten. The scientific-methodological basis of reforming of the organizational-economic mechanism of privatization is elaborated. The role of the different forms of privatization in the process of taking properties out of the state control in Ukraine is examined. The list of the steps is proposed directed on the improvement of the system of the state regulation of the privatization process.
