Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of morphology and peculiarity of inner structure and shock metamorphism of rocks and quartz of the Zapadnaya impact crater. The crater is a complex structure with a central uplift. All rock types of the crater contain distinct traces of shock metamorphism. Shock metamorphic effects in quartz and feldspars are represented by PDFs, a decrease of their refractive indices and birefringences, isotropization and melting.
