Down-feed skiving. Enhancement of tool workability under down-feed skiving of steel ШХ15, development of scientific based recommendations of selection of tool material, tool geometry and cutting conditions as well as development of methods for estimation of tool current state and prediction of tool workability. Experimental investigations of down-feed skiving of steel ШХ15. The physical relations between cutting conditions and basic skiving performances with features of kinematics taking into account have been established. The particularities of formation of worn face on coated carbide tool under skiving have been revealed. Optimum cutting conditions for skiving with TiN coated carbide tool of kinds ВК8, ВК10, Т15К6 have been determined. The method and software for selection of optimum cutting conditions have been applied in Join-Stock Company VNIIAEN (Sumy) for turning operations. On manufacturing factories for machining of short shaft-like parts with rotary type skiving machines.
