Vakarchuk S. Geology, lithology and facies of carbonate deposits of the Visean stage of the central part of Dnieper-Donetz Basin and their relation to petroleum potential

The work deal with investigations of the structure-geological, composition, sedimentologic-deposition conditions and petroliferous regularities of Visean carbonate deposit, within central part of Dnieper-Donets Depression. Upon the foundation of lithology-facies analysis of the carbonate complex of the Visean stade, first, it has been determined that the whole set of the fasies distinctive for differentiated reef-rock formations is present in it. Six main types of constructions which are capable of accumulating and keeping commercial reserves of HC have been established, founding on condition of their formation, features of internal structure, morphology, sizes, relation to containing rocks, searh and exploration of these have their own distinctive features. First it has been determined that a facies zone has only its own concrete types of organogenic constructions, which of a great importance for choice of localities for geophysical work.
