Subject of research: railway switches. Aim of research: to substantiate possibility and expediency of introduction and operation of switches R65 1/11 and R65 1/9 on concrete bearers at the Ukrainian railways. Methods of research: theoretical calculations, experimental investigations, and mathematical statistic calculations, calculating by personal computer. Main theoretical results: elastic-dynamic parameters of the track of the railway switches R65 1/11 and R65 1/9 with concrete bearers were defined by theoretical calculating; dynamic-durability properties of switches R65 1/11 and R65 1/9 with concrete bearers were established by experimental investigations under dynamic impact of rolling stock moving with speeds 5 km/h to 140 km/h; possibility and expediency of introduction and operation of switches R65 1/11 and R65 1/9 with concrete bearers instead of switches with wooden bearers at the Ukrainian railways were proved. Main practical tested: rational operation rules for modern Ukrainian rail way switches R65 1/11 and R65 1/9 with concrete bearers were established and admissible speeds of trains were increased on the basis of testing results; results of research provide a possibility to make corrections to manufacture quality of switch details and operation switches in the track. Novelty of developments is that new results of dynamic forces from wheels to switch details were achieved, and stress-deformations state of the Ukrainian switches R65 1/11 and R65 1/9 with concrete bearers under dynamic impact of rolling stock moving at speeds 5-90 km/h for freight trains and 5-140 km/h for passenger trains were achieved; new results for elastic-dynamic parameters of the track under the railway switches were obtained; possibility for speeds increase of trains moving at railway switches with concrete bearers was proved. Rate of implementation: some results of the work have been implemented in operation of railway switches at the Ukrainian railways, other are being planned for implementation.
