Chmut V. Reparative-restorative operations involving a transplantation of man's criopreserved embryonal cerebral tissue to a patient with severe spinal injuries.

The dissertation is devoted to the problem of improvement of the results of surgical treatment of patients with severe spinal trauma. The scientific work is based on the analysis of surgical treatment of 54 patients with spinal trauma.The dissertation contains results of scientific research characterised by the novelty which consists of the method of reparative-rcconstructive operations with transplantation of criopreserved embryonal cerebral tissue in complex with electrical stimulation of spinal cord.At the period from 1993 to 200130 patients were under reparative-restorative operations with neuro-transplantation and 24 patients were under reparative-restorative operations without neuro-transplantation. Particularities of neuro-transplantation methods choice are determinated by the amount of the injured spinal cord. After reparative-restorative operations with neuro-transplantation we received treatment results: good - 2 (7%), satisfactory -18 (60%), non-satisfactoly-10 (33%). No lethal cases were re gistere.
