Essay

The diversity of pollen wall structure of family Amaranthaceae is described. About 60 characters of pollen wall structure of the family are distinguished. More precise definitions of Amaranthus-type and Gomphrena-type are given, 23 subtypes and 4 pollen groups are described within the main morphological types. The detailed descriptions of pollen morphological data for 85% of genera and 27% of species of Amaranthaceae, and code keys are given, in the appendices.
