Essay

The relationships between the dynamics of radial increment and the changes of sanitary state of pine stands in conditions of the reduction of technogenic load were revealed in Ukraine for the first time. Regression models for the relations between the indices of sanitary state of pine trees and the distance to the source of pollution were developed. The dependence of the changes of pine radial increment on industrial pollution level and on climatic indices was demonstrated for the stands in forest and steppe zones. The methods of the processing of data on pine radial increment were approved with the help of International Tree-Ring Data Bank (ITRDB) Program. Regression models for the relations between radial increment and pollution indices were developed for the stands in Volyn Polissya (forest zone).
