Essay

The main tendencies of morphological differentiation and stages of microevolution transformations of LatePleistocene arvicolids have been analyzed, on the base of morphosistematical and faunistical analysis of micromammals from the Dnieper modern channel alluvium. It may be used to solve problems of of biostratigraphical correlation. These data allowed to establish the evolutionary level and geological age of fauna. Geological dating has been done by groups of fossility (groups of remains, which are characterized by similar degree of fossilization, and, accordingly, by similar geological age). Some peculiarities of forming of mixed alluvial localities have been established. The model of natural environment as the dynamic system of palaeolandscape, climate and biota, with specific organization in time and space, is proposed.
