Kasyanchuk V. Fractures of the calcanea and their differential treatment

The advantages of differential treatment of fractures of the calcanea were substantiated. The classification of fractures of the heel bone was improved to create possibility for choosing the optimal method of treatment. The method of treatment of fractures of the calcanea without any displacement of fragments with the help of the functional plaster cast was developed. For treatment fractures with a displacement of fragments the new devise of external fixation, which provides the full reposition and stable fixation of fragments until consolidation was invented. Necessity of the medicamental correction of the bone mineral density in treatment of these fractures was determined. The appliance for X-ray diagnostics of osteoporosis, which lets to improve objectivity of diagnostics, was developed. Follow up consequence of fractures of heel bone were researched. Effectiveness of suggested methods of treatment in clinical practice was proved.
