Essay

The elements of tyrosine tRNA recognition elements were studied using site-directed mutagenesis and steady-state kinetics. It has been shown that guanine-72 is the identity determinant. The anticodone nucleotides also contribute to identity, whereas the length of variable loop dispensable for recognition. It was found that an additional C-terminal domain improve the catalitic activity of tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase. The obtained data will be used for study of translation regulation.
