Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of biological, morphological, ecological and other properties of the species of Spiraea L. kinds. In the Botanical Gardens named offer academician O.V. Fomin, property of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, there has been created the biggest in Ukraine and Eastern Europe collection of Spiraea L. kind, which consists of 56 species, 3 subspecies, 33 forms, 21 hybrids. The biological peculiarities of the Species of different geographical origin have been Studied. The System of Spiraea L. kind has been suggested in our anodification Isoperoxidase method is used for polimorphous taxons identification. In the culture under the favourable conditions of the Botanical Gardens named ofter academician A.V.Fomin, there have been revealed and described 2 new taxons of Spiraea L.: S. nipponica Maxim. f. tosaensis (Vatabe.) Mak. 'Nana', cv. nov. and S.trilobata L. f. crataegifolia Bonyuk. f. nova. The cold - resistance prognosis has been carried out. As a result of integral numerical estimation of viability and success of Spiraea L. species introduction it has been established proved that the majority (95%) of the Species which have been studied are perspective for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe and Wooded Districts of Ukraine. The recommendations on Spiraea L. cultivation have been worked out.
