Essay

Objects of researches arean ecosystems of the high profile of the Chornohora mountains (Ukrainian Carpathian). The aims - to discovered the level of heavy metals accumulation in the ecosystems of the Chornohora mountains. General features of heavy metals accumulation in the soil, nappe and plants were investigated on the instance of typical ecosystem. Compare to the Clark values the soil was enriched by Pb and Cd (by 2-3 times), while concentrations of Fe and Zn, were lower by 2-4 times and for Cu and Mn were lower by 5-13 and 20-50 times, respectively. Mn, Fe, Cu, and Zn. Average content of Cu, Zn, Mn and Fe found in the plant nappe fits Clark values for the terrestrial plants, while content of Cd and Pb was considerably higher (by order of magnitude or more). Estimation of the atmosphere pollution of Chornohora massive was based on the evaluation of the content of elements in thaw snow, mosses and lichens. The amount of macro- and microelements in snow did not exceed background values that are typical for the Earth zones with the least anthropogenic influence. Concentration of heavy metals in the mosses and lichens of Chornohora was higher compare to the average background values for the Europian ecosystems. Sphere of use is the typical ecological-geochemical monitoring of Ukrainian Carpathian.
