Essay

The object of study - hydrodynamical and thermophysical processes during steel ingots formation caused by pulsation forcing. The method - mathematical modelling. The distinctive changes of hydrodynamical flows structure, of temperature fields, and of solidification kinetics under pulsation mixing conditions are defined that result in liquation defects suppression and in shrinkage pipe depth decrease. The universal dependences for optimal duration and frequency of pulsation treatment for large-tonnage ingots are obtained. The field - metallurgy, machine-building.
