Theoretical, methodical and practical questions of forming strategy of industrial production development are investigated in the dissertation. Elaboration and choice of successful long-team development strategy supposes a qualitative strategic analysis. Complex methodical approach for economic diagnostics of industry subject and model, determining its strategic positions with due regard for competitiveness, stage of vital cycle, profitability and risk level of separate directions of activity are offered in the research. Dependence of environment influence on competitive strategies and intercommunication of resource potential structure and functional strategies are determined. That allowed to work out the matrix approach to forming portfolio of industrial enterprise strategies.
