Essay

The tunnel level splitting of the ground state in a noncompensated antiferromagnetic nanoparticle in an external field or with the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction is calculated in the instanton approach. Unhomogeneous ground states in small magnetic particles with a dislocation in the lattice or a surface anisotropy are analyzed. Tunnel effects are investigated for domain walls and a magnetic disclination in antiferromagnets.
