The dissertation focuses on the analysis of word phonemic structure dynamics in contemporary American pronunciation.Dynamics of word phonetic structure in codified General American pronunciation is proved to be conditioned by free variation of phonemic and accentual structures. Dynamics of word phonetic structure also includes redistribution of word phonetic structure variants in normative usage, ousting some of the variants from pronunciation norm, and development of new variants.
