The dissertation is devoted to a choice of optimum lines of transfer numbers of mechanical step transmission of lorries KrAZ of various purpose(assignment) with the purpose of improvement of their high-speed properties and fuel profitability. By means of the developed mathematical model which adequacy quantitative influence of some transfer numbers of transmission on high-speed properties and the charge of fuel in moving cycles which are determined with standards is confirmed experimentally. The technique of definition of some transfer numbers of transmission of lorries KrAZ is developed on the basis of calculus of variations in the appendix to integrals. The optimized number of transfer numbers of transmission allows to reach(achieve) the compromise between high-speed properties and fuel profitability. Recommendations for use of different criteria of an optimality are developed at designing transmissions of automobiles of different purpose.
