The thermodynamic properties of liquid Al-Cu-Si, Al-Fe-Si and Al-Fe-Ge alloys have been measured by high-temperature isoperibolic calorimetry at 1750 K and by electromotive force method with liquid electrolyte at temperature range from 920 K up to 1240 K. Integral enthalpies and excess Gibbs free energies of mixing in ternary Al-Cu-Si, Al-Fe-Si and Al-Fe-Ge liquid alloys were calculated by Bonnier-Caboz geometric model. The reasonable agreement has been found between the predicted by the Bonnier-Caboz method and experimental thermodynamic functions of mixing. This agreement testifies that thermodynamics of ternary alloys is predominantly defined by interaction between components in the boundary binary systems. The possibility of amorphous alloys formation was estimated using glass-forming tendency (GFT) criterion adapted to ternary alloys, containing binary associates. Computed GFT satisfactory predicts fields of amorphous alloys existence.
