Essay

The thesis dwells upon studying the health and fitness status of 1645 youngsters of the call-up age at two regional drafting boards of a big industrial city on the basis of revealing pathologies that limits the fitness for military service, and the factors promoting their development. The work is the first of its kind in Ukraine Some important scientific principles of state and medico-social importance, contributing to the development of a new trend, namely, concomitant pathology study, have been obtained. The causes of forming prevailing pathologies in youngsters, limiting their fitness for military service, have been revealed. Certain diagnostic criteria for early recognizing certain pathology, as well as the methods for more effective treatment and prophylaxis of diseases in children and adolescents have been worked out. The character of measures aimed at actual improving health and fitness status in youngsters has been defined.
