The dissertation proves that the problem of life and death occupies an important place in Ukrainian thought of XI-XV centuries. The period of formation, establihment and development of this problem in the spiritual life of easten-slavic population are being researched. The statement on some prevelages of theological interpretation of this problem in the spiritual traditions of early periods in Ukraine has been grounded. Theoretical analysis of life and death problems in Ukrainian thought of XI-XV centuries has witnessed some peculiarities with social, political and historic determinants. Understanding and reflection of life and death problem underwent the influence of social-historic realities of that time. The problem of life and death played the significant role in the formation of that period population of Ukraine.
