Essay

The thesis is devoted to investigation of bioecological peculiarities of 5 species of Actinidia Lindl. genus under introduction in Forest-Steppe of Ukraine: A.kolomikta, А.arguta, A.purpurea, A.polуgama and A.chinensis. The rhythms of growth, organogenesis of shoots, blossom and fruitage of objects in the region of introduction were investigated. Forest-Steppe climatic conditions of Ukraine vavour the passing of complete cycle of plant growth and development for introduced species. The posibility to use some criteria for sex determination of actinidia spesies on the base of complex biochemical and anatomo-morphological investigations was proved. The peculiarities of seed productivity of actinidia species were studied. Аctinidia seeds lost their abilities to grow after first year of storage, so to increase germinating ability it is necessary to seed them at once or to put for stratification during four monthes after harvest. Rapid lost of seeds their life ability may caused by the presence in it of highlevel of oil, the majority of which are unsaturated fatty acids. The regenerate ability is species-specific feature and correlates with phytohormonal plant status. Optimum terms of actinidia propagation by wooded and semi-wooded roots were determined. The efficiency of new growth-promoting factors was studied. Four perspective forms of actinidia were selected, which suscessesfully tested and registrated in the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine for 2001.
