Essay

The influence of regular nonumiformity and random disorder on the initial susceptibility tensor of the spin-1/2 Ising model is studied. The thermodynamic functions of the regularly nonuniform spin-1/2 XY and Ising models in a transverse field are found. For the XY model the local magnetic properties are examined, the influence of the transverse field and the Dzyaloshinskii-Moria interaction on the spin-Peierls instability is studied. The quantum phase transitions in the regularly alternating Ising model in a transverse field are inveatigated.
