Zhizhkina N. Technology of Production, Quality and Properties of Centrifugally Casted Rolls with High-Chromium Cast-Iron in Working Layer

The thesis paper is devoted to some problems of improvement of operating endurance for wear and effectiveness of rolls for sheet mills of hot rolling. It is realized by developing of technology of their centrifugal casting, mastering of up-to-date equipment, which the possibility increase application of resistance of high-chromium alloys for working layer. As a result of the research fulfilled, at the LRPC an industrial technology of production of rolls with weight of 8-16 tons has been developed. It was based on theoretical calculations of thermal conductivity and solidification of castings and also on studying of influence of technological parameters of casting and thermal treatment on quality of working and core layers and necks of rolls. A number of methods and a programmer of calculations for modeling of casting process of bimetal rolls by centrifugal machine with vertical axle of rotation have been developed.
