Essay

In experimental model of severe brain injury it was established that transplantation of fetal nervous tissue in the injured brain area leads to normalization of free radical reactions, restoration of oxygen homeostasis and stabilization of lipid peroxidation in the brain and blood during a remote post-injury period. Functional activity of the antioxidant system improved significantly. Normalization of energy exchange in the brain was observed in more remote periods - 30-60 days after the injury.Positive effects on metabolic processes observed after fetal nervous tissue transplantation provides better releave of traumatic brain disease in the remote period and gives an opportunity to use this method in complex treatment of severe brain injury.
