Essay

The thesis is devoted to the research in one of the manifestations of hydrogen elasticity, vis. a shape-change of palladium plate under the hydrogen effect. Regular features of hydrogen-elastic shape-change of the plate are determined experimentally when it is one-sided and sharply saturated with hydrogen and during subsequent degassing. Mathematiсal description for hydrogen elasticity phenomenon and hydrogen-elastic shape-change of palladium plate is worked out. It is shown that one of the reasons for experimentally observed residual shape-change are residual gradients of hydrogen concentration due to the braking of diffusion process by arising hydrogenelastic stresses. Results were recommended to be used in hydrogen metal treatment techniques and operation with products made of palladium or its alloys.
