Object of the study: Children with irritated intestine syndrome (IIS). Purpose of the study: : To study the peculiarities of the clinical picture and some pathogenetic mechanisms of IIS in children with the purpose to improve the diagnosis and distinguish exogenic and endogenic factors which cause IIS and influence its course. Methods of the study: Clinical: history taking, objective study, laboratory, instrumental (US study of the abdominal organs, fibroesophagogastroduodenoscopy, retroromanoscopy). Biochemical: study of LP and AOP systems, blood serum serotonin and histamine levels. Microbiological: study of the intestinal microbiocenosis. Theoretical and practical results: the results of the study extend the ideas about the factors which influence IIS in children, the role of the regimen violations and the character of the diet, psychoemotional stress, previous bacterial and parasitic intestinal diseases against a background of unfavorable perinatal factors. The use of these data about the characteristics of IIS clinical picture in children of various gage, the knowledge of age periods in which IIS is formed, improve the efficacy of the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of the disease. The necessity to investigate the functional state of the stomach and bile ducts was proved in patients with IIS, which necessitates their correction. The revealed disturbances of the intestinal microbiocenosis, LP and AOP systems, serotonin and histamine levels in IIS allowed to reveal new mechanisms of the disease pathogenesis, these indices can be additional criteria for treatment efficacy evaluation. Significance of intestinal microbiocenosis study in IIS to reveal the hidden mechanisms of influence on the levels of biologically active amines and LP system activation. Novelty: Clinical laboratory data allowed to reveal unfavorable exogeneous and endogeneous factors which provide Methods of the investigation: Clinical: history taking, objective study, laboratory, instrumental (US study of the abdominal organs, fibroesophagogastroduodenoscopy, retroromanoscopy). The characteristics of microbiocenosis of the intestine in different varieties of IIS were studied, their association with LP and AOP factors, serotonin and histamine levels was shown. Complex evaluation of the functional state of the stomach and bile ducts in children with IIS was done, the incidence of functional disturbances in these children was show. Degree of introduction: The results of the study are introduced in the work of City Children's' Clinical Hospitals No. 1 and 2 (Donetsk), TMT "Family and Health" (Gorlovka, Donetsk Region). The results of the work are used in the teaching process at Deaprtment of Children's Diseases No.2 of Donetsk State Medical University Named after M. Gorky. Sphere of application: : medicine, pediatrics.
